Jacqueline Steudler Art

Sometimes a painting just doesn't work. Colours don't match, shapes are too bold or too small and over painting seems not an option. After lots of time has passed it just doesn't seem right to hold on to it any longer. A good-bye is in order.  The canvas is taken off the wooden frame and discarded. The wooden frame gets a new layer of canvas (I use unbleached cotton) that is stretched and stapled tight on the back.  Gesso is the next step to prepare for a new creative adventure. Old becomes New!

What a great turn out this afternoon! Many enjoyed to rearrange, take down, put back up, select paintings, and made some last moment adjustments. In the end it was up to me to take it all down. Hard task after two month of continues interaction. Thank you all at the Ross Creek Centre for your help and support. Thank you Katimavik members and Lindsey. Chris O'Neill and Ken Schwartz you are the best!

work in progress by Jacqueline Steudler Last night the moon was just hanging over the horizon. The darkness here (no light pollution) is stunning. It is an inspiring waxing moon.

A new start is always good. All done. Sunsets are just amazing here.

Interaction # 518 by Jacqueline Steudler I'm always coming back to the flowing quality which the oil sticks present.

After the summer break: get the dust off the brushes, sharpen the pencils, and bring creative ideas to the canvas.
