It is always wonderful when a painting finds a new home. It happend again yesterday. These two paintings have gone to a new good home. work in progress by Jacqueline Steudler, oil on canvas 24"x36" Working with oil always takes a bit longer due to th e fact that I have to wait until it is dry. I'm working in layers and the fields that you see right now in those pastel tones might get darker over time.

I just listened to the following Ted talk and was deeply touched by the conclusion of it. Being vulnerable is scarry but on the other hand it is the reason for being able to fe el love, joy and be creative.    Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability

Sometimes a painting just doesn't work. Colours don't match, shapes are too bold or too small and over painting seems not an option. After lots of time has passed it just doesn't seem right to hold on to it any longer. A good-bye is in order.  The canvas is taken off the wooden frame and discarded. The wooden frame gets a new layer of canvas (I use unbleached cotton) that is stretched and stapled tight on the back.  Gesso is the next step to prepare for a new creative adventure. Old becomes New!
