International Professional Female Artists Collaboration - 2023 Calendars and Planner

I'm happy to announce that one of my artworks is featured in an international 2023 calendar project. 😍 I'm honoured to be a part of this fantastic group of women.   86 professional female artists have come together this year to produce fabulous and inspiring art calendars and a planner for you.   We offer a nature + landscapes, OR abstract, OR representational (this means pictures of items you recognize, such as animals or objects) wall calendar or a 52-week planner journal with monthly and weekly pages.   The calendars will ship from the US in December. You can see the flip-through videos for each offer at https://healinghearts.live/Calendar2023 . The wall calendars feature 8.5 x 11" artwork (closest to A4 international size), space for writing, and a spiral center so you can easily hang them and see the art. Opening Reception  Sunday, January 8 from 2 - 4 p.m. Teichert Gallery, 1723 Hollis Street, Halifax Exhibition on view January 3 - 31, 2017 I would like to invite you to a juried group show that is dear to my heart.  For 10 years, I have been a member of  ArtSpa  a group of artists that meets every Tuesday in Waverley to share our passion for painting and everything art. What I like about the group is the openness, the support, and the respect that is shown to everyone on our individual painting path, not to mention the friendships that have formed over the years. You might wonder why we are called ArtSpa? When we were looking for a name early on one of our members Katherine MacMillan said that these painting days were better than a day at the Spa and another member Becky Thompson immediately said: "We are an ArtSpa".  Thank you to Katherine and Becky! It would be wonderful if you would make your way t...

Marbling a New Inspiration

layering the paint is like alchemy I took a great workshop at the NS Centre for Craft and Design with Rhonda Miller, bookmaker and marbling queen.  Although I had dabbled in marbling as a kid and young adult, I had no idea how much fun and excitement it would instil in me again after 30 years. (smile)  I did it - no air bubbles The first day creations where anything but perfect but nevertheless it just got better from there. The next day, all of us in the group, made beautiful papers (perfection wasn't my goal (smile)). I can't wait to get my hands on the materials to create more marbling papers.  How will I use them? I am not sure yet but collaging has been a part of my art practice for a long time and these new creations might just become a part of it.  The possibilities are endless.
